Wave™ System in Use

Step 1Off-line Programming

Patient information, tests requested, and control slides can all be programmed while other Celerus Wave™ System tests are running. Simple pull-down menus allow rapid selection of antibody, detection, and counterstain protocols.

Step 2Slide Labeling

Labels are printed and affixed to slides, and slides are loaded onto the slide rack. Fifty customizable label fields and unique 2-D symbologies ensure compatibility with any lab.

Step 3Slide Rack Loading

After easy insertion of the slide rack, the system verifies that all the necessary slides are present and are correctly positioned.

Step 4Pre-mixed Reagent Magazine and Wicking Cassette Inserted

The system confirms that all necessary reagents are ready. Waste liquid is collected in the disposable wicking cassette, eliminating waste containers and hazardous liquid disposal issues.

Step 5IHC Run Begins

With the push of a button, the Rapid IHC™ process starts. A large, high-visibility on-screen clock counts down the 15 minutes to completion.

Step 6Slide Interpretation

When prompted, high-quality Celerus Wave™ System slides are removed from the instrument, ready for cover slipping and pathologist interpretation. See image gallery.

  • Revolutionary Wave Motion technology accelerates processes, enables 15-minute IHC results, and improves turnaround time by efficiently forcing reagent into tissue and removing unbound chemistries.
  • Ready-to-use, "snap in" linear reagent magazines reliably pre-dilute and dispense reagent onto each slide. This standardizes procedures, increases logistical convenience and eliminates reagent errors.
  • Disposable, self-contained wicking cassette saves costs and improves safety by removing excess reagent. No more hazardous liquid waste issues or external bottles.
  • Parallel slide processing increases speed, throughput and standardization by allowing up to 16 slides to be run in unison.
  • Celerus Wave™ Manager software provides a guided, user-friendly input and selection interface, automatically manages system runs, and requires only minimal training. Specialized web browser software maximizes flexibility by remotely creating labels and reports.
